Thank you for these guidelines, they are very useful.
What I find useful myself, is some research beforehand. Finding out about the organisation is easy. Most businesses are somewhere listed in a directory on the internet, including their website. A little bit more difficult, is finding the correct person to approach, but it is worth looking for names, titles and (direct)phone-lines. It saves a lot of time trying to by-pass the switchboard, receptionist or P.A. if you can contact the right person directly.

Good luck to yout all.

These are really useful guidelines Sylvia. What would also be useful is advice on `phone scripts' for cold calling - actual examples! I find the most valuable thing to do is to be genuinely enthusiastic about what you are calling about as that enthusiasm transfers down the telephone line and helps make up for the lack of visual body language.

Looking forward to further postings! Will add you to my blogroll....

One thing that makes me smile is sunlight filtered through the leaf canopies onto a path or road.

Achievable? Yes, although it ought to be more achievable in April than it has been so far.
